3. Google API Scopes & Data Usage
Google Calendar Integration
Our application requests access to your Google Calendar (`https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events`) for the sole purpose of:
- Displaying your existing calendar events within the Wanderly schedule view so you can plan trips around your availability.
- Allowing you to export Wanderly trip itineraries directly to your personal Google Calendar.
We do not use this data for advertising purposes. We do not sell this data to third parties. We do not use this data to train AI models.
Wanderly's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services.
- Facilitate collaborative trip planning with your friends.
- Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not share your personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Wanderly except in the following cases:
- With your consent: We will share personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of Wanderly when we have your consent to do so.

We take the security of your data seriously, including your Google User Data, and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it, including:
- Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols.
- Encryption at Rest: Sensitive user data, including Google Service tokens and calendar data, are stored using strong encryption algorithms in our database.

7. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to provide you with our services. Upon request, we will permanently delete your personal information from our servers.
